Gift Art for Favetoni.
I've been working on this for some-time now, and as I was sketching through commissions, my thoughts were traced back to an unfinished gift. I've always loved Toni's art, and ever since finding them on dA, my admiration & adoration for their art has always inspired me. This goes for a lot of amazing artists! I decided to draw their main Fursona, because I just love the simplicity, beauty, colours -- it all fits in nicely, and that's why I chose to draw this character. Furthermore, I wanted to test some shading techniques, and have found myself soft-shading again, which seems to be the best way for me to do it. Its main colour is the light-orange, but where I positioned the sunlight, it makes the lower-part of the body darker (plus, I added some yellow highlights on the back, head & tail for sunlight). And, needless to say, I love mirrors, so this was my first try at giving a character its own reflection. <3

P.S. I don't remember what image I used for anatomy correction / credit, but it helped me learn & position the Wolf.

I feel a lot of warmth and energy looking at this image. The fiery orange fur seems to become more fluid as the eye travels away from the canine's outline at the shoulder. It almost feels like looking at the sun in an animal firm, which is quite neat. The form is very well done and the eyes are very striking and have their own life. This is always good as a life like eye helps establish a connection of sorts to your audience. The one thing I would suggest for future improvement is to give the gums a bit more highlighting and shading. They look flat compared to the rest of the image. If you can find a reference picture of a wolf or any canine with the mouth open, you can see that the gums will initially show a bit of a bulge around the base of each tooth. You've done a lovely job on the teeth showing good attention to the shape and coloring. The oddity of the image is that the nose is turquoise; I'm not sure if this is meant to impart a mystic quality or reflect on the nature of the person you made the image for. It is a little odd, but if it is meant to add a sense of enigma to the image, you have done it. All in all, it is very energizing to look at. You can imagine this canine jumping up and snapping at birds. Keep up the wonderful work!
